At Burton EMS, you’ll help prove that the circuit board assemblies we build for medical, industrial controls, transportation, consumer and wireless customers work exactly as they should.
What you’ll do
Mentored by experienced engineers, you will:

- Build test fixtures, methods and procedures that prove products meet customer and industry specifications
- Work out how to get the highest test coverage on each product, then set up the process to test it in manufacturing
- Work with engineering and production teams to define, run, interpret and document tests, and recommend fixes
- Support design-for-manufacturability reviews and component selection, including alternate parts
What you’ll learn
You don’t need to show up an expert in these. We’ll teach you:
- In-Circuit Test (ICT) and Flying Probe Test
- Boundary Scan Test
- Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and Automated X-Ray Inspection (AXI)
- Design-for-Test (DFT) strategy
- Manual and automated functional test
- Reliability run-in, burn-in and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)
What you bring
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology (completed, or completing by December 2026)
- Hands-on experience with an oscilloscope and multimeter (labs, projects and co-ops count)
Nice to have:
- A co-op, internship or senior design project involving PCBs, test or manufacturing
